Accessible Data Tables

Creating data tables so that they are accessible is important so that people using screen readers will be able to have the data read to them in a proper order and thus let the data in a table be understood properly. Having the scope attribute included in the table lets the screen readers know how the data is related. In table one the table header tag includes the column scope tag which lets the screen reader know that the table is related by columns.
The scope tag in table two is used in two table headers one for column and one for rows. This lets the screen reader know that a specif cel at and interception is how the data is related by both rows and columns. The caption in table two also lets a person know what to expect in the table.
In both tables the alternating background (#d7ffff)/(#ffffff) to text (#000000)/#000000 ratio in both cases is 19.64:1 which meets a Compliance Level Section 508 (revised 2017) and WCAG 2 - Level AAA Conformant.
The data tables are covered under: WCAG 2.0 Perceivable. Scope and captions are discussed in Success Criterion 1.3.1: Info and Relationships.

Captioning Videos

Without captions in videos people with hearing loss may not be able to understand the content in videos. Having captions in videos also lets people who hard of hearing who might miss certain words, hear all the words. Captions are also nice to help learn a new language or just in case the sound is bad on the video. WCAG 1 Perceivable explains the use of video captions.

Links and Hypertext

A good or useful link, is one in which text tells the user what the link is. A screen reader will read the link text so a person then may decide if it is the information they are looking for. A bad or not very useful link is one which does not describe where the link goes, what the content will be about or is one which is misleading disguised as advertising perhaps.
The WCAG principle of Operability WCAG 2. Success Criterion 2.4.4: Link Purpose (In Context) requires that the purpose of a link be determined from the link text alone or from the link text and its surrounding context. States that a links subject matter be determined from the links text and text around the link.

Example a of good link. A great site for videos is youtube.com.
A bad or not so usefull way to create links would be this. A great site.

Extra Credit

I was able to navigate the links with just the keyboard
  1. The colors make the menu stand out.
  2. The size of the menu makes it easier to see
  3. The link to the current page is different making the menu more descriptive
  4. The group placement of the links in the menu makes it easier to use
